Hello again !! I has looking around in the chaos of my craft room for something old to upcycle .... and there is a lot of old junk hidden here and there...
I decided to use an old vinyl record bought when I was still a student, at a time when all my allowance money were spent on records ! I also destroyed an old cassette to add some parts on my project. The whole idea was inspired by the "equalizer" lights of my old stereo system, a present from my parents at 1992 ... it doesn't work anymore but I can still see in my imagination those light hopping on the small monitor.

As I was working I found out that vinyl is a VERY tricky material ... I could not use my heat gun or make any embossing because the surface was immediately bending !! It was also very hard to glue my parts ... everything was slipping around !! Not to mention that taking a decent photograph was a challenge, because the light was reflected on the record ...
Despite of the difficulties I enjoyed making this project very much, as it is made from things I love, brings me back good memories and it will decorate my craft room !

ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήThis is just the most perfect upcycle enterprise, totally suited for the Junk in Your Trunk Challenge at Our Creative Corner. I love the Equaliser lights, havent thought about that in years. The whole project was cool and retro and took me down a very fond memory lane. Thanks for the entry. - Candice (aka Tincan Crafter) -

ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήHi there,
ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήI'm hopping over here from the Mixed Media Place Challenge, having participated in it myself, I wanted to see what everyone else did. Hehe, vinyl is such a fun medium to play with, I just know you had fun in that experimentation! I really like your play on the equalizer and including the cassette bits as well. I wonder if we would have bought so many records and cassettes back in the day if we knew what they'd amount to. I also really dig the color choices, as they remind me of several early 90's outfits!
May your muse shine brightly!
This is by fare the most unique use of LP I have ever seen! Absolutely outstanding, stunning and such an adorable Project.
