Sunshine in Venice - for Scrap Around the World

    Hello friends !! This is my entry for Scrap Around the World challenge 23.

I made my page using watercolors, a lot of gesso for my textures and a collage of 3 different photos from my trip to Venice as the main background . I wanted this layout to remind me of the days I spent there, so I add as part of the decorations a mask, a small piece of murano glass, the birds ( like those  st Mark's square  ) and a compass as a symbol of traveling and exploration. Venice is truly a place filled with small ( ...and BIG ) wonders.

What inspired me the most are the colors and the general feeling of calmness of the images.

An old vinyl record...

  Hello again !! I has looking around in the chaos of my craft room for something old to upcycle .... and there is a lot of old junk hidden here and there...
  I decided to use an old vinyl record bought when I was still a student, at a time when all my allowance money were spent on records ! I also destroyed an old cassette to add some parts on my project. The whole idea was inspired by the "equalizer" lights of my old stereo system, a present from my parents at 1992 ... it doesn't work anymore but I can still see in my imagination those light hopping on the small monitor.

     As I was working I found out that vinyl is a VERY tricky material ... I could not use my heat gun or make any embossing because the surface was immediately bending !! It was also very hard to glue my parts ... everything was slipping around !! Not to mention that taking a decent photograph was a challenge, because the light was reflected on the record ...

   Despite of the difficulties I enjoyed making this project very much, as it is made from things I love, brings me back good memories and it will decorate my craft room !

Scrapki wyzwaniowo March challenge - scent

  Hello my friends! Today I made a project for Scrapki wyzwaniowo March challenge - scent ... when I saw the theme I knew I had to use this certain photo of me chopping some onions !! Ok , I know it is not a romantic or dreamy page BUT we had a great laugh that day with my husband, who had the crazy idea that my helmet will protect me from shedding more tears over my cooking bench !! ... for your information it was quite effective !!  So this is it, a super simple and fun page... and even though some may say that onions doesn't have such a pleasant scent I strongly disagree ... onion is the king of all recipes !!

For this page I used some of my 7 dots papers and stamps

No one is too old for fairytales ...

   Hello everyone !! Finally spring is here and hopefully March will be warm and not so rainy ... I am sooo tired of getting wet and cold on my scooter !!!

  We have our new challenge at Scraps n Pieces and we welcome everyone to join us with our new theme from Aliki this time" No one is too old for fairytales " . You are free to create whatever project you like as long as you get inspired by fairytales.

   This time I decided to make a mini book which I create and bind with the instructions of our hostess Myrto who is passionate with book making and is one of the best bookbinders in Greece. Even though her video is in greek, I believe that everyone can follow her steps and understand her instructions. You can see it here.

  For the decoration I used lots of materials , modeling paste, gesso, stamps, stickers from 7 Dots and other small embelishments all of which you can find at Scraps n Pieces emporium.

    I chose some colorful papers to make my pages to enhance the girly look of my mini book. I admit that this project was a challenge for me, because it was my first attempt to bind a book and also because I am not that of a "girly" type of person but I enjoyed it very much and I hope that you somehow get inspired by my project !!

    So this is our beautiful theme from Aliki ...
