We can only imagine...

 Hello my crafty  friends !! I was playing with my family art journal these days and I made this page about my mother. Dorothy always says to me that her childhood was a really happy and carefree season. Summers by the sea, lots of friends and neighbors to play with and memorable schooldays !! I've heard many stories, some of them funny ...others strange ... from a completely different Greece !! But ... in the end we can only imagine our parent's childhood !!

  At this photograph my mother is 11 years old and dressed up as a Casino Rulette for the carnival, a costume handmade by my grandmother.

   

I added some red oil pastel on the skirt and hat and a bit of green on the clover of the blouse.

 This is the original photograph taken at 1961 from the veranda of the house . For my family journal I always make copies of the photographs...

With this journal spread I will enter at 3 challenges.

Guest designer at 13@rts

  Hello everyone ! This month I am proud to be Guest Designer at 13@rts, as the girls there voted my layout to be the winning one at June's challenge. Thank you all, you are an amazing team !!

 For September challenge#22 there is a fantastic photo inspiration challenge and this is my project !

I loved all the" Fly Away" papers ... but this one was something else !!

  To create my page I used the amazing 13@rts products I received from Aida Domisiewicz, chipboard, mists, flowers, mask, mediums and of course the mind-blowing "Fly away" paper collection. 

   

I used all the chipboard leftovers to enhance the wind effect.

And here is the photo inspiration of the challenge ,which I loved instantly !

Φτιάξτε μας μια σελίδα ( ... ή ότι αλλο σας αρέσει, τα ξέρετε τώρα πια )  με θέμα τα κορίτσια και μόνο περιορισμό να μην υπάρχει στη φωτογραφία ή στη σύνθεσή σας κανένα αρσενικό ..!

  Hello everyone !! After our summer rest we are back with our new challenge at Scraps n Pieces challenge blog with the theme " Just us Girls " !! Create a layout ( ..or an art journal page, canvas, altered item etc ..whatever you like!) about girls !!! Remember that we don't want to see any male on your project for this month !!

  Η σελίδα που έφτιαξα για το οικογενειακό journal μου έχει μια φωτογραφία που αγαπώ πάρα πολύ. Είναι απο μια ανοιξιάτικη γιορτή που ετοίμασαν οι πρόσφυγες της Νέας Περάμου ( Μεγάλο Πεύκο) για τα εγκαίνια του νέου τους ξύλινου σχολείου το 1926. Τα κορίτσια που βλέπετε παρόλη τη διαφορά ηλικίας ήταν όλες συμμαθήτριες, μεταξύ των οποίων και η γιαγιά μου Ελένη. Τη μέρα εκείνη παρακολούθησε τη γιορτή ο τότε πρωθυπουργός-δικτάτορας Ελλάδος Θεόδωρος Πάγκαλος .... προφανώς θα ήθελε να ελέγξει αν οι φούστες είναι αρκετά μακριές ....

  This is a page for my family art journal, with a photo I really love. It is from a school feast back at 1926 and among these girls is my grandmother Helen only 12 years old at the time.

  Η σελίδα μου είναι πολύ απλή, λίγο layering με διάφορα χαρτάκια, μερικές σφραγίδες, μολυβοκάρβουνο για τις σκιές, μπόλικα mists και λίγο gesso για να απαλύνω τα χρώματα. Ολα τα υλικά που χρησιμοποίησα θα τα βρείτε στο Scraps n Pieces emporium.
  This is a very simple page. I made some layering with my papers, some stamping, a bit of charcoal pencil her and there, a lot of misting and some gesso to soften my colors. You can find all those great stuff at Scraps n Pieces emporium .

I colored my grandmothers dress pink, to differ from her classmates.

  Και αυτό το μήνα σας έχουμε ένα προαιρετικό σκετς, όποιος θέλει το ακολουθεί !
  As usual we have an optional sketch for the challenge, use it only if you want to!!
