Hello everyone !! This Monday is my turn to participate at "A blog hop with a difference" as I was asked to by my dear friend in life and inseparable scrapbook partner Athanasia Papantoniou !! I was really glad when she proposed me to participate as a scraper that inspires her, although -between us- the opposite is true !! SΗΕ is the one that inspires me and helps me in so many different ways, back from that day we sat down and made our first mixed media canvas at her house, a few years ago !! So thank you so much for everything !!
Athanasia is a multi talented person. She can be creative with so many different ways .... scrapbooking, felting, sewing, working with clay, making jewels or altering objects. I believe that paying attention to the smallest detail is what characterize her the most, everything is so perfectly assembled that the result is faultless. After all, as a piano teacher she is, she knows how to synchronize everything into tuneful melody! Take a look at her blog "Athanasia: Me and myself " to see with your own eyes those small wonders she creates!
The goal of this blog hop is to share a little about our crafting/scrapping arty process and to introduce people that inspire us . So I'll start with my small interview and then introduce my 3 favorite ladies and their blogs!
What am I working on right now
At this moment I am working on a family art journal. I am still collecting old family photographs that are scattered between cousins, aunts and grand parents and my wish is to make a memento with the lives and faces of my ancestors. It's not an easy task, many names are already forgotten and I have to dig deep to find out something about their stories.
How does my creating process works
My first step is to think about my project...I think about what I want to create A LOT .... and then I start to gather all the parts together ( papers, photo, colors, stencils...etc ) . The strange thing is that the final result is almost completely different than the one I originally imagined! It's like the project itself has it's own will and while I'm putting my elements together bit by bit, it leads me to it's own path.
What is my signature style
Ok, enough about me !! I will now introduce you my 3 favorite artists and their blogs in no particular order, as I love their style and creations equally !!
.............
My sweet Erina is for sure one of my favorite scrapbookers !! I love her vivid, dashing and jolly style !! Her work is always hearty, generous and NEVER boring to look at .... even though I have never met her in person I'm sure that she is a giving girl with a big heart because that is exactly what I feel every time I visit her blog!
Vasso's calm and gentle character is reflected on every page she makes ! Super talented, with great taste in her crafting and the skill to combine non-traditional color combos into an amazing result ! I loooove the photographs she use, they are always interesting, artistic and some times kind of dreamy. She really does have the eye of a true artist!
Thank you all for being her and don't forget to visit my friend's blogs !!!
Have a great summer everyone!

What am I working on right now
It takes..... ages!!! It is almost impossible for me to sit down on my desk, start my project and finish it like every normal person would do! I'm always kind of lost and try to do many things at the same time .... but I'm working on it, I swear !!! I' ll be a better Helen in the future !!

How do I become inspired
What inspires me the most is the photograph I use, especially when it's about a person I know personally or just admire for some reason ( a singer, an actor, a writer , whatever ..). But I also get "inspired" by the music I listen to while I'm creating and the feelings that it causes.
What is my signature style
That's a difficult question to answer as my style is not really fixed. I have tried a couple of styles and different ways to express myself so far, but I think that the one thing in common between my creations is the bittersweet sensation and a bit of vintage touch. Although sometimes I tried to create something more cheerful and light, my heart was not that pleased at the end.

What I feel when I look at Aliki's work is pure fascination ! She has that unique ability to present her everyday stories in her layouts, in a way that seems simple....but believe me it's not ! Her creations are so organized, so balanced and crystal clear, that only a master of this style can achieve. She honestly is the sorcerer of clean and simple (....don't laugh Aliki... it's true !!) In two words her work is overflowing with
elegant simplicity.
