Scrap Africa Sketch No30 - 13 arts Let's splash ! Challenge No 19

   Good morning everyone! With this layout I will play at  two different challenges.

From the time I saw the challenge at Scrap Africa I new I had to make a vintage project and I have to admit that I loved this sketch very- very-very much !! It is for sure one of my favorite ever !!!
I also gave it a try to make some splashes on this layout because I wanted to play with 13arts this month !

  These two women are my grandmother Eleni and her sister Maria at a photograph from 1937 just before the World War 2. These young girls at their 20s were just starting to learn their future professions while they lived in Athens at the time. My grandmother later on at about 1948 opened a Hair Salon at Chalkis while her sister became a dressmaker. They were both women of the fashion and everyone can tell just by looking at their photos!

I used a lot of mediums and made some crazy stamping  and splashes

This is the original photograph. I made a copy for my layout because I didn't want to "destroy" it ...

Art journal page - scraps background tutorial

   Καλησπέρα σας  !!! Σήμερα θα ήθελα να μοιραστώ μαζί σας το πρώτο μου βίντεο tutorial , που ετοίμασα για το Scraps n Pieces challenge blog. Ηταν μια χρονοβόρα διαδικασία τελικά η οποία όμως μου άρεσε πολύ και σκέφτομαι να το επαναλάβω! Τώρα που έμαθα τα κατατόπια υπόσχομαι την επόμενη φορά να το κάνω πιο μικρό !!!
 Ελπίζω να σας αρέσει η σελίδα που έφτιαξα και κυρίως να διασκεδάσετε παρακολουθώντας το!

  Ηello everyone !! Today I would like to share with you all my first ever video tutorial , which I made for Scraps n Pieces challenge blog. I really really liked the process, although it took me a lot of time overall. I'm thinking of doing some more in the future, and I promise you to make shorter videos and add some subtitles in english as well !!

   Our June challenge at Scraps n Pieces Challenge blog begins today and the theme is :

"Μy favorite... "

  Think about what is your "favorite" and make a layout, a card, an art journal page, an altered item or a canvas!

  Αφού πέρασαν διαφορα αγαπημένα απο το μυαλό μου, σκέφτηκα να φτιάξω μια σελίδα για το art journal μου με θέμα την αγαπημένη μου δουλειά του σπιτιού. Οχι επειδή είμαι καμιά φοβερή νοικοκυρά (....ούτε καν ), αλλά επειδή τον τελευταίο καιρό περνάω πολλές ώρες στο σπίτι και η μαγειρική με βοηθά να ξεσπάω σε κάτι ας πούμε πιο δημιουργικό. Aν έβρισκα και κάποιον να μου πλένει τα τσουμπλέκια μετά, θα ήμουν πολύ ευχαριστημένη....

So this is my page about my favorite housework....cooking!! I'm definitely not a typical housewife but cooking is by far my best housework .... 

Το κορίτσι της σελίδας μου είναι απο το παιδικό παραμύθι " Η Ταρώ και ο ζαχαροζυμωμένος" και το έχει σχεδιάσει η Εφη Λαδά.

   H όλη σελίδα είναι ένα κολάζ απο χαρτιά κομμένα με το χέρι και κολλημένα με gel medium. Οταν στέγνωσαν εντελώς τα χρωμάτισα με διάφορα ακρυλικά χωρις να χρησιμοποιήσω πινέλο γιατί δεν ήθελα να έχω προσεγμένο αποτέλεσμα. Αφού στεγνώσαν καλα τα χρώματα πέρασα όλη τη σελίδα με ένα αραιωμένο στρώμα gesso, τόνισα ξανά με τα ίδια ακρυλικά τις "ραφές" απο τα κολλημένα χαρτιά μου και τέλος πρόσθεσα λίγη μουτζούρα με ένα παλιό σφουγγαράκι βαπτισμένο στο μαύρο archival ink pad. Κατόπιν στάμπωσα, κόλλησα τη φιγούρα του κοριτσιού και τα υπόλοιπα κουζινικά σκεύη, χρησιμοπoίησα modeling paste και το στενσιλ σετ της Teresa Collins "Basically essential"  και έκανα μερικές σκιάσεις με μαύρο ανεξίτηλο μαρκαδόρο.

 Εύχομαι να σας αρέσει η πρόκλησή μας, να πήρατε κάποιες ιδέες απο τη σχεδιαστική μας ομάδα, να παίξετε μαζί μας και γιατί οχι, να κερδίσετε και το δώρο μας απο το  Scraps n Pieces emporium !!
