Hello everyone!
This month I am a guest designer over at Berry71Bleu and so happy about it!! I got the spot by winning July's challenge and I just have to thank one more time the Designer Team for choosing my layout among all those great entries and Heartfelt Creations for their amazing gift !! I was so thrilled when I found out I was the winner that I was jumping up and down like a child....a silly sight for sure!!! Fortunately I was alone at the time and spared myself the shame....!!
For the August challenge you must get creative with textile! Norma Gomez inspires us with her work and asks us to grab some TEXTILES, set our creativity free and create something that makes us happy. Following her lead I decided to make a movie theme project. I used a card illustrating the final scene of a very famous Greek movie, a snapshot that trully captures the emotion of this bitter-sweet story filmed back in 1965.
I created this black & white background to match the photograph by applying a thin layer of gesso over the black textured paper.
I used burlap, linen, lace and cheese cloth as decoration. I coloured them a little bit with ink and mists to give a romantic touch.
A tulle flower with a piece of crochet on top and an old button to keep them connected.
A mixed media corner , a textile collage...call it whatever you want!!
...and some of the stuff I used.
Thank you all for visiting my little creative corner, I trully appreciate it!
