Happy new year and ... Get lucky !!

   Happy new year everyone !!! Usually the winter in Greece starts a little bit later, but this new years eve was surprisingly cold and snowy !! Although I am not a winter person I found myself enjoying the cold weather and trying desperately to find some long forgotten warm clothes to wear !!

  This year we have some changes at Scraps n Pieces challenge blog and I am very happy to announce our two new DT members , who are dear friends of mine in life and VERY talented artist too! Please welcome them and visit their blogs to find out their amazing work!

   So we have our new challenge for January at Scraps n Pieces challenge blog and the theme is " Get lucky " !! Create a project and include something that brings you luck and good fortune! You can find all the details at our blog here.

I made a page with a small pomegranate, which is a tradition of  new years eve here in Greece. Pomegranate is a symbol of good luck, fertility and abundance, and we traditionally brake it to pieces when the new year arrives to bring good fate to our houses ! I used a new technique to create my  background by splashing a little bit of mist with my brush and then spray it with water to dissolve and create this watercolor effect.I tried this trick for the first time at my page and it was so fun !!

    As usual we have an optional sketch for those who want to use it !

   With my page I will also enter to December challenge at 7 dots studio about holiday traditions. Ι have used  papers from Nature walk collection for my strips and for my semi circles too.

  

and also at the Mixed media monthly challenge #8 where we must try something new on our project!

Scraps n Pieces December challenge - Remember 2014

  Μιας και τελειώνει ο χρόνος τι θα ήταν πιο ταιριαστό απο μια σύνθεση που θα αφορά τη χρονιά που πέρασε ! Για το Δεκέμβριο και για να αποχαιρετίσουμε το 2014, σας έχουμε μια πρόκληση με θέμα αναμνήσεις, σημαντικές στιγμές ή μια ξεχωριστή μέρα, με μόνο υποχρεωτικό στοιχείο να δούμε κάπου μέσα στη δημιουργία σας το "2014". Στο Scraps n Pieces challenge blog η σχεδιαστική μας ομάδα έχει ετοιμάσει τις δικές τις προτάσεις για την πρόκληση και ελπίζουμε να σας εμπνεύσουμε και να παίξετε μαζί μας και αυτό το μήνα!

 Since the year is almost over, our last challenge at Scraps n Pieces challenge blog is about memories, special days or important moments of the past 12 months! All you have to do is make a project and put "2014" somewhere in it!

  H δική μου πρόταση είναι μια σελίδα για το art journal μου, λίγο περισσότερο mixed media αυτή τη φορά.

  Ι decided to make an art journal page, just a little bit more mixed media this time..!

   Χρησιμοποίησα πολλά υλικά, gesso, mists, modeling paste, μελάνια και πολλά πολλά χαρτάκια, τα οποία όλα μπορείτε να τα προμηθευτείτε απο το Scraps n Pieces emporium.

  Το σκέτς μας για αυτό το μήνα είναι όπως πάντα προαιρετικό, για όποιον χρειάζεται έναν οδηγό!

   Καλημέρα σε όλους! Η προκλησούλα μας για τον Νοέμβριο έχει να κάνει με πράγματα ή πρόσωπα που είναι σημαντικά στη ζωή μας και δεν μπορούμε χωρίς αυτά! Η φοβερή μας coordinator Αμαλία έχει όπως πάντα έτοιμες όλες τις λεπτομέρειες της πρόκλησης στο Scraps n Pieces challenge blog και τα κορίτσια του DT έχουν φτιάξει απίθανες δημιουργίες για να σας εμπνεύσουν!

  Goodmorning everyone! Our November challenge at Scraps n Pieces challenge blog is about all those thing or persons we can't do without!! All the details of the challenge and lots of inspiration from the DT wait for you at our blog !!

   Η σελίδα μου αυτή τη φορά ειναι λίγο ανάγλυφη, λίγο λαμπερή, με ελάχιστα διακοσμητικά στοιχεία γιατί ήθελα να στηρίζεται κυρίως σε υφές και χρώματα. Οπότε δούλεψα με μπόλικο modeling paste, mists και ακρυλικά για ένα πιο mixed media αποτέλεσμα. Τα υλικά που χρησιμοποίησα θα τα βρείτε όλα στο Scraps n Pieces emporium.

  I made a mixed media  page with lots of modeling paste, mists and acrylics, and a little bit of sparkle to balance the absence of other embellishments.
